UN Women chief of staff to visit Pakistan

Mohammad Naciri, Chief of Staff of UN Women, will undertake an official mission to Pakistan from 12–14 July and 18–21 July 2026 to reaffirm commitment to advancing gender equality and women's empowerment through strengthened partnerships and strategic engagement. The visit will coincide with the Ninthth Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)Ministerial Conference on Women and include a programme of engagements with national stakeholders and the United Nations system.
As part of the mission, the chief of staff will join representatives from OIC Member States to advance dialogue and cooperation on women's rights and empowerment. Naciri will deliver opening remarks on behalf of UN Women.
The visit will bring together national counterparts, development partners and the judiciary on shared priorities including gender equality, women's leadership, access to justice and digital transformation that works for women and girls. The discussions will underscore UN Women’s continued partnership with Pakistan to advance gender-responsive policies and institutions.
During the mission, the chief of staff will meet with members of the United Nations Country Team to advance coordinated UN support for Pakistan’s commitments under the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.
